Plate from 1921 from Royal Copenhagen's attempt to have porcelain produced in China.
In 1921 Royal Copenhagen wanted to get their porcelain production costs reduced and contact was taken to China and a trial production was started. Already the same year it became clear that the chinese was unable to forfull the job in terms of quality, color and number of units produced and the production was halted that same year.
The approx. 1000 pieces of porcelain which had been burned, was sent to Copenhagen and distributed among employees.
Today these pieces extremely rare.
